It was a jammed packed week for the Elk Point-Jefferson softball squad as they played 3 games in 4 days. Their 1st match-up, on May 13, was versus Dell Rapids. Next up was Madison on May 14, and then they had their last game of the regular season on May 16 with Viborg-Hurley as their opponent.

T he Blu f fs G o l f Course, in Vermillion, was the place to be for the Elk Point-Jefferson girls golf team on Monday, May 13. The team finished in 8th place overall, and many Huskies found success on the greens and fairways.

Husky baseball loses close game at home to Tanagers

The Huskies baseball team lost a close one to the Tanagers of Vermillion on Tuesday, May 14. With all runs scored early, it was a 1-2 defeat for Elk Point-Jefferson on their home field.

EPJ State Track Preview 2024

There will be a lot of Huskies headed north on May 23-25. Their destination will be Howard Wood Field, in Sioux Falls, as many talented Elk Point-Jefferson track athletes go to work at the state meet. All classes in the state of South Dakota will be competing and EPJ looks to make their mark among the talented field of Class A schools.

It was a busy week of track and field for the Huskies as they were in Canton on May 14 and then hosted the Last Chance Meet on May 16. Elk Point-Jefferson had multiple student athletes perform well, at both meets, to end the regular season on an extremely high note.

Some of the best Class A competition in the state was at the DAK-XII Conference Meet on Thursday, May 9 at West Central. The Panther track and field team worked hard to bring home top honors in several events.

Lady Panthers top Orioles on Senior night

The top of the line-up did their job for Dakota Valley at their home softball game versus Lennox on Tuesday, May 7. The first 4 batters, for DV, secured singles to have the team’s offense on a roll early. The Panthers grabbed 3 runs during their 1st at-bat and never looked back, as the squad went on to beat the Orioles 9-3.

Betsworth takes first at WC Invite

The Panther girls golf team swung their clubs at Central Valley Golf Course in Hartford on Monday, May 6 for the West Central Invite. Dakota Valley’s Katie Betsworth continued to impress as she claimed 1st place individually with a score of 81. The 8th grader has proved to be almost unstoppable on the fairways and greens with her consistent play this season.
