2024 SD HS Track and Field All-State

The list of high school track and field athletes in South Dakota, receiving the honor of academic all-state was released near the end of May. Seven Panthers were on the list.

Dakota Valley Legion ball plays loaded schedule

The Dakota Valley Legion team played a lot of baseball over the course of 3 days on June 20, 21 and 22. On Thursday, June 20 they faced a legion post from Minnesota, DFG Post 397, and also a roster from Equitable Banks Senior ‘24.

All-State and All-Region Class B Division

Dakota Valley’s Beau Pollema was named to 1st Team Class B All-State for baseball. Jackson Boonstra made 2nd Team Class B All-State for the Panthers.

The list of high school track and field athletes in South Dakota, receiving the honor of academic all-state was released near the end of May. Grace Peed, of Elk Point-Jefferson, was on this prestigious list.

Baseball All-Stateand All-Region Class B

Elk Poi nt - Jef fer son’s Keaton Gale was named to 1st Team Class B All-State by the South Dakota High School Baseball Association for the spring 2024 season. The All-Region team was also announced with Gale being on the roster along with Kayden Moore and Brody Van Roekel. Luke Swatek received an Honorable Mention for Class B All Region.

EPJ Huskies comes out on top against Tabor

It was a win for the Elk Point-Jefferson Senior Legion squad on Wednesday, June 19. The Huskies downed Tabor Legion Post 183 by a score of 3-0.

Panthers shoot well at State Trap Tournament

The South Dakota State Trap Shooting Tournament was held in Aberdeen on June 8-9 with over 800 student athletes competing. Dakota Valley had strong representation and brought home some hardware for their effort. 

Senior Legion Huskies win one, drop one over the weekend

The Menno 79ers, from Post 152, were opponents for the Huskies Senior Legion baseball team on Friday, June 14. Kayden Moore was on the mound and pitched a great game to guide his team in their 7-0 win. 

Moore went all 7 innings and had 5 strikeouts. He gave up 2 hits. Elk Point-Jefferson’s defense recorded no errors in the ballgame. 

Dakota Valley 16U VFW tournament champions

The Dakota Valley 16U VFW baseball team was at Harmodon Park, in Sioux Falls, for the 2024 Father’s Day weekend. They played in the Dakota Classic Tournament which had them taking in 6 games over the course of 3 days on June 14-16.
