DV eager for rematch Friday

Saturday, August 24 was the first soccer match for Dakota Valley boys. Despite a 2-7 loss, great things were observed on the pitch as the Panthers played Freeman Academy in the away contest.

Panther golfers start season breaking school record

The Panther boys varsity golf roster started the season strong by breaking a school record on Tuesday, August 20th. Dakota Valley won the West Central Early Bird Invite at Central Valley Golf Course in Hartford with an impressive team score of 297.

Huskies runner-up at Madison meet

Elk Point-Jefferson represented well at the varsity boys golf meet on Thursday, August 22 in Madison. As a team the Huskies ranked 2nd in overall scoring to be runner-up at the meet.

Legion Class B State Baseball Tournament Champs

The Huskies Senior Legion team brought their best ball to the state tournament for games on August 2-6. The 2024 South Dakota American Legion State Class “B” Sr. Baseball Tournament took place on Cubs Field in Salem, SD. Elk Point-Jefferson represented extremely well to take state and come home as champions.

Cornelsen SDGA Junior Tour Cup qualifier

Tate Cornelsen of Dakota Dunes, SD, qualified for the 2024 SDGA Junior Tour Cup held at Hillsview GC in Pierre, SD, on Monday, August 5. Only two players from each region in South Dakota qualify based on points earned throughout the tournament golf season.

DV Panthers VFW 16U A State Tournament runner-up

The Panther 16U baseball team was in Vermillion on August 9-11. As state qualifiers the roster and coaches were looking to close out the 2024 summer season with a sweep of wins. Dakota Valley had an incredible run at the tournament and were 1 of 8 regional qualifiers along with: West Central, Mobridge, Dell Rapids, Flandreau, Tri-Valley, Madison and Vermillion.

Dakota Valley 16U baseball region champs

A new format for regional play in the 16U division for South Dakota VFW had Dakota Valley winning twice on Wednesday, July 28 and advancing to state. The Panthers had to win 2 out of 3 games versus their regional opponent in order to be a state qualifier. And they did just that in swift fashion.

Dakota Valley Panthers plan for fall sports

Dakota Valley Athletic Director Bill Clements ran the 2024 fall sports meeting on Monday, August 5 in the school’s high school gym. He spoke to a large crowd about the upcoming autumn sports season.
