Panthers use strong defense against Tanagers

An intense week was on-hand for the Panther girls team which made for exciting basketball. It began with Cameryn Sommervold making a hook shot from the lane to take the score to 2-3 against Vermillion on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. The Panthers were in Tanager territory for a tough regional match-up.

Dakota Valley hosts Youth Wrestling Tourney

Close to 300 young wrestlers met at Dakota Valley on Saturday, February 15, 2025 for the annual youth tournament hosted by the Panther Wrestling Club. There were approximately 30 DV wrestlers who hit the mats in hopes of securing a 1st place chain. Medals were also awarded to wrestlers who placed 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th in their brackets.

EPJ Huskies win dual versus DV Panthers

Many Huskies flooded Dakota Valley on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 for the wrestling team’s high school dual. It was the last regular season meet for Elk Point-Jefferson and they brought along their youth club program so plenty of grapplers saw mat time.

Elk Point-Jefferson boys basketball take down Beresford

The Watchdogs of Beresford came to town on Friday, February 14, 2025 for a boys home basketball contest with the Huskies. It was a game where Elk Point-Jefferson took care of the ball on offense and played good defense throughout each quarter to get the win. The final score was 56-46 with the Huskies on top.

EPJ Huskies take the win against Watchdogs

The Huskies continued to play strong basketball as the girls varsity team took on a dynamic Nebraska team from Crofton on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. Crofton was the Nebraska C2 state runner-up for the 2023/24 season.

Dakota Valley girls bring the heat, win three

The Sioux Valley Cossacks came to town on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 for girls basketball as the Panthers kicked off a trio of games for the week. It was an evenly matched game for most quarters with Dakota Valley prevailing big time in the 4th to capture the win 73-65.

Dakota Valley coach Kleis earns three hundredth win

It was a packed house for the Panther boys away basketball game versus Elk Point-Jefferson on Thursday, February 6, 2025. Dakota Valley started a bit slow, but came on big as the game progressed to win 66-39. The evening and the victory was extra special as it was the 300th career win for DV Head Coach Jason Kleis.

Dakota Valley Panther esports qualifies 30 for state

South Dakota’s 1st sanctioned regular season for esports concluded for the Panthers on Thursday, February 6, 2025. It was a stellar 8 weeks of play by Dakota Valley as they qualified 30 for the state tournament in Aberdeen on February 14-15, 2025.

Panther wrestlers overcome injuries, compete well

Wrestlers at Dakota Valley were very busy during a 3 day stretch of matches, duals and tournaments. First up was a contest, in Nebraska, on Thursday, February 6, 2025. A good crowd was in attendance as the Panther Wrestling youth club joined the DV high schoolers to show support and also wrestle some bouts against Ponca and Homer.
