Dakota Valley golfers place second at Dell Rapids tournament

Dell Rapids was the destination for the Dakota Valley boys golf team on Monday, August 25, 2025. It was a full field of competition and the Panthers came home as runnerups. They were just 3 shots behind 1st place Aberdeen Roncalli. Dakota Valley finished 1 stroke ahead of conference and region rival Vermillion who took 3rd.

Panthers dominate Yankton in volleyball home opener

Volleyball started with a clean sweep for the Panther varsity squad on August 28, 2025. In their home opener, Dakota Valley barely allowed the Yankton Gazelles into double digits as they won in 3 quick sets.

DV shows grit in home opener against Freeman Academy

An excellent crowd was in the stands to watch boys soccer as Dakota Valley went up against Freeman Academy on Monday, August 25, 2025. This was the Panther’s home opener and their 2nd game of the 2025 fall season. It was also already their 2nd match-up versus the Bobcats from Freeman, South Dakota.

Panther girls surge to 3-0 start, top Class A rankings

Soccer season started with a bang for the Panther girls varsity team, as they took down the reigning Class A state champions. Up against the Chargers of Sioux Falls Christian (SFC), it was a huge victory for Dakota Valley on their home turf on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, An outstanding bleacher crowd had DV pumped up on the pitch. Midfielders and DV’s frontline worked the ball well to start the contest. Junior Isabella Mijangos took a shot on goal, at the beginning of the match, however it was just wide. The Panthers then had a corner kick with 29 minutes left until halftime. It was a good offensive opportunity, but did not produce a score. The Panthers spent quality minutes in SFC’s territory to keep up the pressure. Freshman Mallory Riibe had a low shot attempt on goal that the Charger’s keeper was able to deflect.

EPJ runners post strong finishes to start season

The Huskies and many other cross country teams were in Beresford, South Dakota on August 28, 2025 to kickstart what looks to be an exciting fall season. Running at the Bridges Golf Course, Elk Point-Jefferson navigated hills and warm weather to have strong finishes and great showings.

Huskies push MVP to five sets in season opener

The 1st volleyball match for Elk Point-Jefferson was an away contest on Thursday, August 28, 2025. The Huskies traveled to Mount Vernon-Plankinton (MVP) to take on the Titans. It was an epic match, and a fierce start to the season, as the contest went the full 5 sets.

EPJ boys golf competes at Rocky Run in Dell Rapids

The Elk Point-Jefferson boys golf team traveled to Dell Rapids on Monday to compete at Rocky Run Golf Course, one of the most challenging venues on their schedule. Known for its narrow fairways, numerous penalty areas, and strategic obstructions, the course provided a true test for the 102 golfers in the field. Despite the difficulty, conditions were favorable, leading to some low scores across the leaderboard.

EPJ crushes Parker 61-19 in football home opener

The home opener for Huskies football happened on Friday, August 22, 2025. The season started off excellent as Elk Point-Jefferson rolled over the Parker Pheasants by a score of 61-19.

Panther golfers tie for first in season opener

Two varsity golf meets occurred during the 1st week of school for the Panthers, which meant 2 different rosters represented Dakota Valley to commence the fall season. On August 19, 2025 the Panthers golfed at West Central and varsity had a great showing.

Elk Point-Jefferson golfers face steep test at Madison Invite

The Huskies kickstarted their 2025 fall golf season for high school on Thursday, August 21, 2025. The first meet was hosted by the Madison Country Club which made for a tough venue for all of the golfers.
