Friday night lights started off at home for the Panther varsity football team on Aug. 25 and it was a nice win over Vermillion by a score of 21-0.

Panthers take on West River in the Hills

A road trip to the Black Hills led to lots of wins for the Panther girls soccer team on Friday, Aug. 25 and Saturday, Aug. 26. Their 1st opponent was St. Thomas More of Rapid City followed by Belle Fourche and Sturgis.

Dakota Valley Dance starts season with gold

The Panther dance team took home gold from their competition in Gregory on Saturday, August 26th. It was a terrific contest to star t the season for Dakota Valley who is working hard to repeat again as state champions.

Panther Cross Country has great start

There were 31 schools competing at the SD Cross Countr y Kick-Of f meet in Beresford on Friday, Aug. 25. Panther athletes ran routes throughout the Bridges Golf Course that varied in length depending on varsity, junior varsity and middle school runs. Individually, and as a team, DV was well represented.

Dakota Valley golfers place 3rd as a team

Dell Rapids hosted the Panther boys golf team and an array of other schools for a meet on Monday, Aug. 21 at Rocky Run Golf course. It was with a team score of 308 that Dakota Valley secured 3rd place behind 1st place Tea Area and 2nd place West Central.

Boys soccer team stays resilient despite loss to Tea Area

For the very first game of the boys soccer season on Thursday, Aug. 17 it was a tough opponent for Dakota Valley. The Panther varsity roster squared off in a match at Tea versus the Titans who have been dominant in the sport since it became sanctioned for high schools in South Dakota in 2011.

Dakota Valley boys golf team secures 2nd place

It was tough weather conditions at the 2023 West Central Early Bird Boys Golf Invitational in Hartford on Monday, Aug. 14. However, Dakota Valley persevered against the tough wind and strong competition in their 1st meet of the season to claim runner-up with a team score of +55.

Dakota Valley 16U VFW has successful season

A successful season of summer baseball was had by the Dakota Valley 16U VFW team who ended with a record of 14-13-1. A winning streak of 5 games to start the season back in June propelled the squad to regional wins and a punched ticket to the 2023 SD VFW Class A state tournament in Beresford on Aug. 4-6.
