More convincing wins for Metros

Sioux City Metros faced the Quad City Blues on November 16th and 17th. Varsity’s relentless attack left them with 5-1 and 8-1 wins respectively. DV’s Noah Graham added two points for assists to his season stats. Precision passing from teammate Teagan Doelman of Sioux Center landed him 25 points on the season following the latest game vs. the Boji Mammoths. Varsity had an easy grip on Boji on Saturday the 23rd with a 10-0 shutout. That gives Metros a 7-1 season record to date in the MHSHL (Midwest High School Hockey League).

DV beats Lennox, plays Hanson next to qualify for SoDak 16

Dakota Valley jumped to a big lead in volleyball, versus Lennox, on Thursday, November 7, 2024 in their 1st set of the evening. The Panthers were playing on their home court for the Class A Region 4 semifinals. Back-to-back kills by outside hitter Sammy Kimbell had the Panthers ahead 13-3. The Orioles got on a bit of a rally, but Claire Munch shut it down off an assist, from her sister Madie, to make the score 18-10.

Dakota Valley Panther football season recap

The Panther varsity football season came to an end on Thursday, October 31, 2024. Dakota Valley had a strong season and advanced to postseason play as the #7 in Class 11A for South Dakota. A loss to Dell Rapids in the 1st round of playoffs ended DV’s bid to make it to the state finals on November 16, 2024.

Sioux City Metros dominate Boji

After a sweep performance on the road to Waterloo, Sioux City Metros outplayed the newest team to the Midwest High School Hockey League, Boji Mammoths. Numerous teammates contributed to the barrage of points. Heelan’s Karson Fitch (Sr.), South Sioux City Ryan Hedquist (Sr.), and DV’s Jax Trosper (Jr.) led the way with hat tricks. Goaltender Cameron Patrick, Sergeant Bluff (Jr), added a shutout to his statistics. Varsity ends the game with a 15-0 win.

Panthers continue to roll, ready for postseason

The Panthers jumped to a monster lead in their 1st set versus the Tea Titans on Monday, October 28, 2024. Up 13-6 gave the Panthers an excellent start to the evening.

Dakota Valley battles Dell Rapids in tough season ending loss

The Panthers went to Dell Rapids for playoff action in high school football on Thursday, October 31, 2024. A Halloween contest on the road had the Panthers working hard against an opponent they had beat earlier in the season. However, the Quarriers were out for revenge and also brought their best game.

DV Cross Country Academic All-State

The 2024 Panther Cross Country team had 4 student athletes make Academic All-State for the 2024 season. They were: Jack Brown, Brayden Hamm, Sophia Redler and David Thieman. In order to qualify for Academic All-State honors, these Panthers had to meet certain criteria as put forth by the South Dakota Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association.

Competition cheer performs well at state contest

The South Dakota High School Activities Association held the 2024 state contest for competition cheer on October 25-26, 2024 in Rapid City. Dakota Valley was in attendance with others from Class A who all performed on Friday, October 25. The event was held in Rapid City at the Summit Arena in The Monument.

DV Panther dance team crowned state champions

The Dakota Valley Dance Team secured their status at the top of Class A as they were crowned state champions for the 15th consecutive year on October 26, 2024. It was to no one’s surprise, as the Panthers went into state with multiple first place finishes during the regular season. These top marks were received while dancing against competition from not only Class A, but the much larger Class AA schools.
