Panthers go the distance, break records at recent meets

Better weather was finally sticking around for high school track and Dakota Valley was taking advantage of Mother Nature’s generosity. Personal records, season best times and top marks were garnered by the Panthers in the 1st full week of May.

Dakota Valley golfers compete well at Dell Rapids Invite

Freshman Katie Betsworth shot an outstanding round of golf to take 1st place, at the Dell Rapids Invite, on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. Betsworth secured a score of 77 to be just +5 over par. Her Dakota Valley teammates also had great games for the roster to finish high on the podium.

Grudge fest leads to major Panther win over Trojans

Dakota Valley took on the #1 West Central Trojans in softball on May 5, 2025 in a home game for the Panthers. With a nice crowd in the stands, DV came back in the bottom of the 7th with 2 outs and 2 runners on base. Junior catcher Mia Riibe hit a walk-off homerun to give the Panthers the lead, and the victory, by a score of 6-4. It was an incredible night of competition and the 1st time that DV has beat top ranked WC since high school softball was sanctioned in South Dakota.

Lady Panthers stay disciplined, gain strength

The DAK 12 conference tournament started off Dakota Valley’s week of softball on Monday, April 28, 2025. The Panthers were a #3 seed in the tourney and had games at the Sanford Diamond versus #9 Vermillion and #4 Madison.

Girl golfers finish strong despite windy conditions

A team finish of 4th plus strong individual play was the outcome for the Dakota Valley girls varsity golf roster on Monday, April 28, 2025 at their home meet. Two Rivers Golf Course, in Dakota Dunes, is the home course for the Panthers and was the host site for this invitational of 18 rounds. Other schools in attendance included: Elk Point-Jefferson, Vermillion, Madison, West Central, Tea, Canton and Lennox.

DV Panthers celebrate seniors at home invite

A beautiful night was finally in the books for Dakota Valley track and field as they hosted their home invite on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. A full crowd was on-hand to celebrate the Panther seniors as they competed at home for the very last time.

Panther baseball on top in 4 out of 5 games

The Panther high school spring baseball team was certainly busy as April ended and May began. They played 5 ball games from April 25-May 4, 2025 against strong competition. Dakota Valley won 4 of the 5 contests to have strong momentum as they look to the home stretch of their regular season which ends in mid-May.

Panthers exciting comeback win against Huskies

It was a come from behind win to kickstart Dakota Valley’s softball season on April 4, 2025. The Panthers were at Elk Point-Jefferson in an away contest. The weather was cold and damp, but the fans were loud.

DAK XII Boys All-Conference Honors for Basketball

The high school basketball season has concluded in South Dakota, however honors are still being announced. A few senior Panther boys picked up nods from the DAK XII. All-conference recognition for their great play throughout the 2024/25 season was awarded to: -2024/25 All-Conference 1st Team: Luke Bruns.
