SFC pressure slows Huskies

The Elk Point-Jefferson girls basketball team faced a fierce opponent on a windy night, in Sioux Falls, prior to the school’s winter break. The Chargers of Sioux Falls Christian (SFC) hosted the Huskies on Thursday, December 18, 2025. It was SFC’s home opener and they came out aggressive on the court.

Swatek earns 100th win as Huskies battle hard

Huskies were in Canton for a wrestling quadrangular on Tuesday, December 16, 2025. Tough competition was observed on the mat, as Elk Point-Jefferson battled Dakota Valley, the Canton C-Hawks and Beresford/Alcester-Hudson (BAH).

Huskies battle hard but fall to Madison in opener

Competitive play met up with the Husky boys basketball team on December 13, 2025. Elk Point-Jefferson was in Madison to kickstart the 2025/26 high school basketball season. The game proved fierce and unfortunately the Huskies did not leave town with a win. However, hard work was observed on the court.

Defense powers girls to victory over Madison

Mother Nature finally decided to let the high school basketball season begin for the Elk Point-Jefferson girls basketball team on Saturday, December 13, 2025. An earlier contest, December 11 versus Canton, was postponed until January 5, 2026 due to snow and icy conditions.

EPJ wrestlers take 2nd at Flandreau Invite

Snowy weather did not hold back the Elk Point-Jefferson wrestling team as they claimed 2nd place at the Flandreau Invite on Saturday, December 6, 2025. The Huskies were one of 14 teams at the tournament and earned 125.0 points in overall team scoring. They edged out 3rd place Deuel by a half of a point. Madison would claim 1st place with an incredible 226.5 points.

EPJ alumni compete at NAIA nationals

Husky alumni, Bentlee Kollbaum and Natalie Heuertz, were spotted on the volleyball courts this past week. Both were in the Sioux City metro as the Tyson Events Center hosted the NAIA Women’s Volleyball National Championship tour‑nament on December 3-9, 2025.

Terry honored as 11B Coach of the Year

Accolades continue for Elk Point-Jefferson’s football program in 2025. And this time it is the man at the helm, Jacob Terry, receiving a well deserved honor as he was named Class 11B Head Coach of the Year. The award was announced in the midst of November during South Dakota high school football’s post-season.

A battle of the unbeatens unfolded on Friday, November 14, 2025 as Elk Point-Jefferson faced St. Thomas More (STM) in the DakotaDome for the Class 11B football state finals.

EPJ survives thriller, advance to state title game

Hosting the semifinals for 11B playoff football were the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies on Friday, Nov. 7, 2025. Their opponent was Deuel who received the kick-off to start the contest. The weather was chilly, but both teams appeared warmed up and ready as an invitation to the state finals was on the line.
