EPJ trounces Sioux Valley to close out perfect season

Regular season play ended well for the Huskies in football as they trounced Sioux Valley by a score of 41-26 on Friday, October 17, 2025. This gives Elk Point-Jefferson an undefeated season for 2025 and plenty of momentum as they head into the postseason playoffs.

Huskies cross country makes history at regionals

History was made by the Elk Point-Jefferson boys cross country team on Friday, October 17, 2025 as they outpaced the competition at regionals. A rain delay in Parkston, on October 16, postponed the meet to the next day. However, it did not slow down the Huskies at all.

Akin finishes 15th at 2025 State golf tournament

Ben Akin was the lone representative for the 2025 EPJ Boys’ Golf team at the South Dakota State Golf Meet, held October 6-7, at The Bluffs in Vermillion. This marked Akin’s third appearance at the state tournament, where he continued his steady rise up the leaderboard. Akin previously finished 44th in 2023 and 16th in 2024. This year, he climbed one more spot to place 15th overall.

EPJ sweeps Viborg-Hurley, hosts DAK XII on Oct. 18

The Huskies brought out the brooms on October 7, 2025 as they swept Viborg-Hurley 3-0 in their home match. It was a close 1st set with the Huskies prevailing 25-23. After that, EPJ ignited to barely allow Viborg-Hurley to reach double digits in scoring.

Huskies place two on all-conference team, eye regionals

Hiawatha Golf Course, in Canton, was the destination for the Elk Point-Jefferson cross country team on Thursday, October 9, 2025. The Huskies were there to compete in the DAK XII conference meet against schools from Dakota Valley, West Central, Sioux Falls Christian, Vermillion, Madison, Dell Rapids, Canton, Tri-Valley and Lennox.

EPJ powers past Flyers, sets sights on Sioux Valley

On the road, on October 10, 2025, the Huskies continued to dominate the game of football and Friday Night Lights while in Flandreau, South Dakota. Playing on Tiger McGlone Field, it would be an Elk Point-Jefferson win over the Flyers by a score of 43-6.

Huskies push Wagner to four, come up short

The Huskies traveled over 90 miles on Thursday, October 2, 2025 for their volleyball match versus the Red Raiders of Wagner. It was a tough one that Elk Point-Jefferson took to 4 sets in competitive play. Unfortunately they did not get the win, but the grit on the court was admirable.

Huskies shine on home turf, push pace at Lennox

Cross country is not a sport for the meek and Elk Point-Jefferson showed their strength and endurance on the running paths to end September and start October. The start of autumn has been warmer than usual, but that has not slowed down any of the Huskies. On Monday, September 29, 2025 it was the team’s home meet at The Pointe and EPJ represented well.

Akin qualifies for state, Elk Point-Jefferson finishes 8th

On Monday (September 29, 2025), the EPJ boys’ golf team opened postseason play at the Bluffs in Vermillion. The regional tournament carries a pressure unlike any other—some even say it’s more intense than the state meet itself.

Huskies crush Red Raiders, stay atop 11B

The top of the leader board for 11B football, in South Dakota, is where the Huskies will stay after defeating Wagner on Friday, October 3, 2025. It was a huge win for Elk Point-Jefferson, on homecoming night, as they did not allow the Red Raiders to score at all on their way to 48-0 victory.
