Robert (Bob) L. Cottrell, 90, of Elk Point, SD passed away in Sioux City, IA on March 5, 2023.

Mary L. Knowles, 74, of South Sioux City, NE, passed away Feb. 12, 2023 surrounded by her family at Regency Square Assisted Living. A memorial service was held Tuesday, Feb. 14 at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home. Visitation was one hour prior to the service. Burial was at St. Michael’s Cemetery. LaVern L. Schroeder, 82, of McCook Lake, SD died Saturday, Feb.

Patricia Katherine ( Nooney) Robinson, daughter of William E. Nooney and Irene (Lee) Nooney, was born on Jan. 16, 1944, in Viborg, SD passed away suddenly at her home in Yankton, SD on Feb. 16, 2023, at the age of 79.

Jon Douglas Trefz, a longtime resident of Vermillion, SD, died Feb. 13, 2023, with his family by his side. Among Jon’s last words to his loved ones were these, “This life has been such a good life.”

Gloma Vey Kneebone, 93, of Jefferson, SD passed away on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023 at her home with her loving family at her side.

Ruth A. Price, 83 of North Sioux City, SD passed away Monday, Jan. 30, 2023, at a local hospital. Ser vices will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023, at the Heritage Baptist Church. Burial will be in McCook Lake Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. with family present from 5-7 p.m. and prayer ser vice at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, 2023, at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Alice Romanie Murphy was born in Lynd, MN on Nov. 8, 1924 to Joe and Yvonne DeWispelaere and grew up in Ivanhoe, MN. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Minnesota. During this time she met and married John F. Murphy in 1955 and later divorced. She went on to teach for several years at the St. Paul Public School System before she moved to Sioux Falls, SD where she taught at St. Joseph’s Cathedral Elementary School. She also completed two years of post-graduate work at the University of South Dakota.

Becky Lynn Jolin, 67, of Elk Point, SD passed away suddenly on Friday, Feb. 3, 2023 at her home.

Janet L. Haug, 86, of Elk Point died on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023, at the Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home in Viborg, SD. Funeral Services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, 31903 475th Ave, rural Elk Point with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation was from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, at the Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home, Parker with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m.
