Tensions high at NSC council meeting

Tensions were high at the city council meeting held on Monday, July 1st in North Sioux City. It was a full room, as many were on-hand to hear from the local government regarding the recent flooding in the area. Residents also voiced major concerns about communication and relief efforts, or lack thereof, as it pertained to this disaster.

Council discusses flood response, notification system

On July 3, Mayor Patti Teel called a special meeting to order at 7 p.m. with the city council and community members present. The agenda was approved with an addition regarding a fireworks permit request. Community department heads and community board reports were limited to three minutes.

The Jefferson City Council’s recent meeting on July 1, 2024, addressed various vital issues and ongoing projects pertinent to the community. One of the discussion topics during the meeting was the future of the former Jefferson High School property.

2024 Tri-County 4-H Horse Show grows in numbers

In spite of Mother Nature’s worst, with flooding and road closures, the 2024 Clay-Union-Yankton County Horse Show went off as scheduled. It was a huge success, with more 4-H Exhibitors entering more events than in any show in recent memory.

DV board focuses on work, regular sessions

The Dakota Valley school board was busy in the second week of June with a regular session meeting and a work session on June 10th, as well as another work session on June 11th. The June 10th work session was called to order at 5:30pm by Chairperson Steve Kistner.
