Stifel Financial Corp. today announced that Kletschke Wealth Management Group of its Stifel, Nicolaus & Company, Incorporated broker-dealer subsidiary has been named to Forbes’ 2025 Best-in-State Wealth Management Teams list.

Dakota Valley Debate

Debate students from Dakota Valley traveled up north to Harrisburg on Saturday, February 15, 2025. The Panthers were there to take part in the Rushmore Challenge NIETOC Qualifier. Many schools from South Dakota were also in attendance. Dakota Valley had 3 teams competing in the junior varsity public forum debate category.

Elk Point-Jefferson Husky musicians have busy week

The Elk Point-Jefferson choir department has been staying busy the past few weeks as talented Husky musicians audition and perform for crowds. On Friday, January 31, 2025 there were six EPJ musicians who attended the Wayne State College Treble Honor Choir. The event took place on-campus in Wayne, Nebraska. Those selected had to submit their audition by 5 pm on Friday, December 6, 2024.

Slater PGA Golf Professional of the Year

An incredible honor was recently bestowed on a well-known face in the North Sioux City community. Rodd Slater of McCook Lake was named the 2024 Golf Professional of the Year by the Nebraska Section Professional Golfers' Association (PGA).

On February 3, 2025, the North Sioux City Council convened for its regular meeting at 7:00 p.m. under the leadership of Mayor Teel. The attendance included Council members Mr. Benson, Mr. Bogenrief, Mr. Christenson, Mr. Davis, Mr. Green, Ms. Hoffman, and Mr. Meyer, with Ms. Christiansen absent. Key officials present were City Administrator Jeff Dooley, City Finance Officer Amy Lilly, and City Attorney Sarah Kleber.

The Union County Board of Commissioners convened for a regular session on February 4, 2025, with the meeting starting promptly at 8:30 a.m. The commissioners present at this session were Michael Dailey, Kevin Joffer, Tom Kimmel, and Peggy Ustad.

Jefferson council discusses upcoming elections

The Jefferson City Council convened for its regular meeting on February 3, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in City Hall, drawing a quorum of council members, including Mayor P. Rigg, T. Boulware, J. Casper, M. LaFleur, J. Lokhorst, and M. Stokely. Also present were city officials and members of the community.

Schonebaum elected to Beadle Club

Superintendent Philip Schonebaum was elected as a South Dakota Beadle Club member at 10:30 am on February 5 in Pierre, South Dakota. The purpose of the Beadle Club is to signally honor selected individuals in South Dakota who have given meritorious service in the cause of education over the years. This service must be aside from and in addition to their regular contributions made in their official capacities.
