Open house held for bypass project

The traffic on Northshore Drive has been a hot topic for many years amongst various government entities. Now, the city road which acts as a farm-to-market road, is looking to be addressed.

Saving every life, one animal at a time

The Siouxland Humane Society (SHS) has received national recognition from the Best Friends Animal Society. A plaque was awarded for achieving a save rate of over 90 percent for year 2022, naming the SHS a no-kill shelter.

Rounds’ Staff to Visit Elk Point

Staff from the office of U.S. Senator Mike Rounds will be conducting outreach in the community of Elk Point to assist residents with any issues they may have with federal agencies.

Communication tower project bid awarded

The bid for Union County’s new communication tower and generator project was awarded Oct. 31. The Union County Board of County Commissioners awarded the $337,712.37 bid to One Way Wireless Construction out of Shakopee, MN. The company has until July 2024 to complete the project.

Christmas at the Homestead

Adams Homestead and Nature Preserve would like to invite their visitors to get in the holiday spirit and take a step back in time by attending the annual Christmas at the Homestead Saturday, Nov. 11 from noon to 4 p.m.

The marching has come to an end…

It is hard to believe, but the marching band season has come to a close. It seems we just got started. We had a total of 16 rehearsals and with 15 performances, it was a busy start to the year for the band.

Dakota Valley Theatre presents PUFFS this weekend

The cast and crew of Dakota Valley’s three-act production of the play PUFFS have been working hard in preparation for their performances at 7 p.m. on Nov. 10 and 11. They will take the stage in DV’s Performing Arts Center.
