New findings in regards to the yearly audit were presented to the Dakota Valley School Board at their meeting April 8. As is the case in most small towns or school districts, the audit report found a “significant deficiency resulting from the lack of segregation of duties.” The recommendation, per the norm, was to “recommend that district officials be cognizant of this lack of segregation of duties and attempt to provide compensating controls whenever and wherever possible and practical.”
