Reinhardts meet Lonzo Ball and feel close to loved one

Dakota Valley alum and Morningside University student Alex Reinhardt passed away on February 26, 2023. However, his memory lives on due to Reinhardt’s generous nature as an organ donor. This act led to an incredible opportunity for the Reinhardt family as they got to meet one of the individuals whose life is now forever changed thanks to Alex.

NSC election recount

In North Sioux City, South Dakota, a recount in the recent special election has altered the outcome of the one-year commissioner race. Initially, David James Wilch was declared the winner by a narrow margin of two votes over Vincent D. Tucker. However, after a recount conducted on April 15, Tucker emerged victorious with 400 votes to Wilch’s 398.

High voter turnout for NSC election

Voters flocked to the North Sioux City (NSC) community center and fire hall for a big municipal election on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. Seats on a five-member commission were to be determined as the city turned a corner to elect a new mayor plus four commissioners.

The North Sioux City Council convened its regular meeting on April 7, 2025, at City Hall, with Mayor Teel calling the session to order at 7:00 p.m. Council members in attendance included Mr. Benson, Mr. Bogenrief, Ms. Christiansen, Mr. Christenson, Mr. Davis, Mr. Green, Ms. Hoffman, and Mr. Meyer. City Administrator Jeff Dooley, City Finance Officer Amy Lilly, and City Attorney Sarah Kleber were also present.
