CNOS announces grand opening for new imaging center

Area patients now have even more options for life saving diagnostic tools thanks to CNOS and the new Imaging Center expansion at their Dakota Dunes Clinic location. “The new imaging center is a significant milestone for CNOS patient care,” said Steve DeVoe, Chief Operating Officer at CNOS.

Noem announces additional funding for apprenticeship programs

Governor Kristi Noem and the Department of Labor and Regulation (DLR) announced additional financial assistance for businesses and apprentices to develop new and expand existing Registered Apprenticeship Programs. The effort will invest $7.9 million over three years to administer apprenticeship grants.

County equalizes properties

The Union County Board of Commissioners met as the Board of Equalization April 25 and reviewed 11 properties. Out of the 11 properties four were recommended to have no changes and remain the same as previously assessed.

JB Popcorn expands business in tri-state area

The love and passion for popcorn inspired two people to begin their own business. Jeremy Johnson and Bobby Fender are coowners of JB Popcorn, which began in North Sioux City.

City to serve Friends Feast

The May Friends Feast will be held on Monday, May 8, from 5:30-7 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The meal will be provided by The City of Elk Point. Menu for the feast will consist of taverns, potato salad, beans and a cookie. All are welcome at this free community meal.

Elk Point VFW to host State 14U tournament

The Elk Point-Jefferson VFW 14U baseball team will behostingthe202314UVFW Class A state tournament July 21-23 at Todd Larsen Field. The eight team tournament consists of seven region champions from across the state and the host team. Day 1 will consist of four games with an opening ceremony taking place after the second game. Day 2 will also be four games. Day 3 will be three games – 5th place, 3rd place and championship games being played in that order.

Warrant issued in suspicious death

An arrest warrant has been issued in the suspicious death of a Dakota Dunes woman who was found deceased in her Wellington Apartment Wednesday, April 26. According to the South Dakota Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI), the death was determined suspicious in nature.

Smith, Griffin rule over Prom
