The Jefferson City Council discussed various properties at their meeting Sept. 7, including the purchasing of a piece of property.

The South Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs (SDDVA) recognized five of their partners for outstanding commitment, leadership and dedication to serving veterans and their families. The award ceremony was held in Sioux Falls during the Department’s annual veterans’ benefits training conference for county and tribal veterans service officers (VSO).

The lights shown bright as this year’s stars of Elk Point-Jefferson’s Homecoming took to the stage Monday, Sept. 11 for Coronation. Dressed up in their finest, they awaited the news of who would be crowned this year’s King and Queen.

The Elk Point-Jefferson School District believes that opportunities for student participation in activities is central to the growth and development of the children in our community. While we cannot provide and oversee all activities that could exist for our students to participate in, we are blessed as a community to have many talented and dedicated individuals that are willing to share their knowledge and skills with our youth.
