Huskies earn 30 medals at Canton Relays

The Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies’ Track travelled north to Canton to participate in the Canton Relays on Monday, April 17. After the Sioux City Relays being cancelled on April 15 due to inclement weather, the Huskies were ready to run, jump and throw.

Panther boys varsity baseball team secures more wins

The Panther boys varsity baseball team was busy over spring break as they faced off with Menno/Scotland on Friday, April 7 and travelled to Parkston on Monday, April 10. Big innings at the plate gave Dakota Valley two mores victories to keep them undefeated.

Dakota Valley Panthers win double header against Watchdogs, defeat Titans

While Dakota Valley schools were off on Friday, April 7 for spring break the Panther softball team was hard at work in a double header versus Beresford at home. It would be two wins for DV as they took the 1st game by a score of 9-2 and were strong in the 2nd match-up to win 16-1.

Panther boys take 1st, girls 2nd at Ponca

The talented Panther boys and girls track squad made their way across the river to Homer, NE to take top placements in a multitude of track and field events. The day was hot and extremely windy, but Dakota Valley performed well.

Panthers take 2nd at opening season meet

Underclassmen and upperclassmen all played the links well on Tuesday, April 11 to bring home a 2nd place finish for the Dakota Valley girls varsity golf team. It was their first contest of the season and it took place in Beresford at Bridges Golf Course. The Panthers were one of six teams at this event.

Dial advances to world championship

Caden Dial of North Sioux City RoboKodas 77000X was awarded the Think Award at the 2023 CREATE US Open Robotic Championship. The RoboKodas competed among 165 top VEX Robotics teams in the world. The judges praised the RoboKodas stating 77000X had “amazing amounts of research and development on theor y of robot control. Their approach to Bezier drive cur ve calculations was unique and impressive.” Dial will be competing with the top 800 high school robotics teams at the VEX Robotics World Championship April 25-27 in Dallas, TX.

Throws, distance shine for Huskies at home meet

On a cold, windy, and overcast day, 10 teams competed at the EPJ Husky Track Invitational on Monday, April 3. Originally scheduled for April 4, this meet was moved due to the inclement weather forecast for the 4th.

EPJ Baseball: Back into the swing of things

The bats are back in action as of April 10 for the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies. The team will be led by head coach Zach Ronning and assistant coaches John Gale and Chase Sherrill.

Tea area Titans down Huskies

The Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies took on the Tea Area Titans Monday, April 3 as the home team. However, due to moisture on the softball elds, the Huskies had to play on Dakota Valley’s eld as the home team. The Titans put up a ght and charged past the Huskies, winning the game 17-2.
