Senior Panthers recall 2023 girls soccer season

Windy conditions would exist for the Dakota Valley girls soccer squad in Hartford on Thursday, Oct. 5. It was round one of the Class A soccer playoffs with the Panthers taking on the West Central (WC) Trojans.

DV Boys place 3rd as team at State Golf

A 3rd place Panther finish was achieved at the state golf tournament on Oct. 2 and 3 to wrap up the boys 2023 golf season. Dakota Valley scored a 652 to be +76 at Hart Ranch Golf Course in Rapid City. Vermillion would be crowned Class A state champions with a 642 and Tea Area was named runner-up with a 643.

Langle places 5th at state

Three Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies earned the honor of travelling to Rapid City to compete in the Class A State Boys Golf Tournament Oct. 2 and 3. The tournament took place at the Hart Ranch Golf Course. Carter Langle, Ben Akin and Austin Hanson were among the 100 golfers to compete.

Ashley Brewer is a strong server for the Huskies.

EPJ Girls fight against Sioux Falls Christian

It was a rough start to volleyball in Sioux Falls on Sept. 28 as the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies took on the Sioux Falls Christian Chargers. The first set would belong to SFC who dominated and barely let EPJ get on the board recording the set 7-25. The second and third sets were different as the Huskies fought back and showed they could compete against the Chargers. Even though the Huskies lost in 3 (7-25; 2125; 19-25), they played with heart.
Jacob Gale had 3 rushing touchdowns for the Huskies Sept. 29.

The almost three and a half hour drive to Miller, SD didn’t dampen the Huskies Spirit as they prepared to challenge the Miller/Highmore-Harrold Rustlers. The Huskies came out strong, putting 14 points on the board with two rushing touchdowns and the point after touchdowns (PAT) good from Carson Timmins.
Stella Carlson has been a strong server for the Panthers this year.

Dakota Valley Panthers take on Ponca and Pierce, Nebraska

Panther volleyball action took place across the river in Nebraska on Thursday, Sept. 28. Dakota Valley went up against Ponca and Pierce and were winners for the night, as they dropped only 1 set the entire evening.

Boys Class A State Golf held in Rapid City

The Boys Class A State Golf Tournament will be held in Rapid City at the Hart Ranch Golf Club. In 2022, the Titans from Vermillion were crowned Class A Team Champions followed by Aberdeen Roncalli and in a tie for third place, Dakota Valley and Sioux Valley.

The competitive cheer squad for Dakota Valley travelled north on Tuesday, Sept. 26 to O’Gorman High School. The Panthers were one of 12 teams competing in Sioux Falls that day and they left town with their highest score of the season in overall points.
