Girls soccer holds senior night, ends in draw

Senior night for the Panther girls soccer team was held on Thursday, Sept. 28 as Dakota Valley hosted Vermillion. Twelfth graders Emerson Bowen, Grace Meyer, Ashlynn Stusse, Ashley Neeser, Claire Hemmingsen and Josie Eckhardt were all honored for their commitment to the game and the DV girls soccer program.

DV Dance places 4th at O’Gorman

The Panther dance team is heading into the final weeks of their season and they showed strength at the O’Gorman Dance Invite on Tuesday, Sept. 26 in Sioux Falls. They would place 4th overall, in competition against many larger Class AA schools, while also receiving high honors in the jazz and pom categories.

DV Cross County secure Canteen at Union County Quad

September 26 was a great day for the Dakota Valley cross country team as the boys and girls, in a combined effort, brought home the Union County Quad Canteen. For the 2nd year in a row the Panthers were champions. Prior to 2022, the civil war era canteen trophy was held by Beresford for several seasons.

DV holds Fall Trap

Dakota Valley’s trap team is holding a shorter fall season. The season is five weeks long. Members of the fall trap team include Cameron Black, Michael Bourne, Sam Chartier, Andrew Derochie, Jamison Kimbell, Patrick Kloucek, Preston Kneib, Caleb Mullen, Colby Mullen, Evelyn Redler, Benjamin Strawn And Claire Wiebelhaus.

EPJ Lady Huskies down Beresford Watchdogs

The Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies travelled up the I-29 corridor to visit the Beresford Watchdogs Sept. 19.

Huskies place in Alcester

Mason Marx, running in the boys varsity 5K event on Sept. 18 in Alcester, earned his way to a 9th place finish with a time of 19:12.76. Even though he was the lone Husky medalist, his other teammates helped secure a 4th place finish as a team.
