Huskies down Pheasants, Warriors, lose to Chargers

The Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies had a long week of play as they hosted Parker, travelled to Sioux Falls and then went down to Sioux City. The boys did well going 2-1 for the week.

Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies win one, lose one

The girls got off to a thunderous start as they took to their home court against the Parker Pheasants Dec. 14. The Huskies stormed the court and never looked back giving the Pheasants no chance of coming back in the game.

Monical competes in state championship

Eston Monical, of Dakota Dunes, competed in the men’s novice division at the Iowa State Judo Championship in Ames, IA, on Dec. 9, 2023. Monical is a 10th grader at Dakota Valley and won the Nebraska State Games Judo Championship this past July. He is currently studying Judo at Siouxland American Judo and Jujitsu with sensei, Johnny Trudeau also of Dakota Dunes. Monical, along with his younger brother, Hayes, plan to complete in the National State Games in San Diego, CA in the spring of 2024.

Huskies wrestle in Quad

The Elk Point-Jefferson Husky wrestling team travelled to Montrose, SD to participate in a Quad against Mc-Cook Central/Montrose (MCM), West Sioux (Hawarden, IA) and Canistota. Overall, the team participated well against their three opponents, but couldn’t overcome some of their matchups against West Sioux and MCM.
