EPJ tops Dakota Valley in Senior Night thriller

A competitive evening unfolded for the Elk Point-Jefferson wrestling team as they hosted nearby Dakota Valley, for “Senior Night”, on February 10, 2026. While the matches took centerstage in the exciting atmosphere, the 12th graders affiliated with Husky wrestling were also recognized. Keaton Hinds and Owen Rigg, plus managers Delaney Thorson and Kayla Sharkey, have worked hard for Husky wrestling and will all be missed next season. Tyler Nolz, head wrestling coach at EPJ, is grateful for these four seniors and their dedication.

DV girls push top teams, split busy week

Sophie Meyer drove in hard to make her signature left-hand lay-up for the Panthers as they versed Sioux Valley (SV) on February 3, 2026. It was an away game for Dakota Valley and the SV Cossacks started strong from the perimeter to nail a trio of 3-pointers.

DV boys overwhelm EPJ in decisive win

The Panthers controlled every part of their varsity basketball game on Thursday, February 5, 2026 versus Elk Point-Jefferson (EPJ). Dakota Valley worked hard to defeat the EPJ Huskies by a large margin as they started strong and never hit the brakes.

Dakota Valley qualifies for six esports titles at state

The 2025–2026 season has been a tremendous success for the Dakota Valley Esports program. After competing in seven game titles this year, the Panthers have qualified for six titles at the state tournament in Aberdeen on February 13-14, 2026.

Panther grapplers sweep duals, place at Yankton

Two contests greeted the Panther high school wrestling team to start February as they competed in a triangular across the river and also a South Dakota tournament. Dakota Valley was in Homer, Nebraska on Thursday, February 5, 2026 to battle with the Knights and the Ponca Indians.

EPJ boys stay competitive in tough three‑game stretch

A close battle on the road to Parkston did not go Elk Point-Jefferson’s way, as the varsity boys took a loss 48-55 on January 27, 2026. It was a tight game with the Huskies always in the mix. However, they were unable to overtake the lead from a strong Trojan squad.

EPJ challenged on road, finish strong at DSU Classic

Traveling to Parkston on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 was the Elk Point-Jefferson girls basketball team. They would face a strong Trojan team who had only 1 loss on the season thus far. It was a rough 1st quarter of offense for the Huskies as they found themselves down 9-23 headed into the 2nd period.

Huskies dominate duals, place five at Big East/LCC

February started with a full schedule for the Elk Point-Jefferson wrestling team as they traveled to Garretson on February 3, 2026 and then Canistota on February 5, 2026. To end the week the Huskies went up against a lot of stellar opponents for the Big East/LCC Tournament on February 7, 2026.

DV esports racks up state qualifiers during Senior Week

Dakota Valley celebrated Senior Week from January 26–30. During the week, they opened their esports lab to senior parents and hosted senior trivia, interviews, and featured streams highlighting all of the senior esports athletes. Matches were also played across all gaming titles as the regular season of esports comes to a close. Much success was observed by the Panthers as many looked to make the 2026 state competition.

DV boys split road games, surge past Sisseton

Away games were on the schedule for the Panther boys basketball team as they shut the door on the month of January. Dakota Valley traveled to Sioux Falls Christian (SFC) on Thursday, January 29, 2026 to face a strong Charger squad.
