Elk Point-Jefferson lady Huskies have big win on road

The Huskies came out strong against the Vermillion Tanagers on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. It was a home contest and Elk Point-Jefferson had a great 1st quarter attack. They led 18-4 early in the 2nd quarter.

Dakota Valley Panther girls stay undefeated

The Panther girls took their undefeated record to Hartford for a game versus the Trojans of West Central (WC) on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. Into the 2nd quarter, with WC playing some zone defense, the Panthers looked strong and led 22-12.

Shutouts keep Metros on top

Sioux City Metros Junior Varsity added another shutout to their season with a score of 9-0 against the Boji Mammoths on January 16th. Dakota Valley Sophomore Jack Colligan buried one of Metros’ 53 shots on goal. Back-to-back shutouts against the Fremont Flyers that same weekend, gave JV 21 wins on the season with just one loss. Goalie Gunner Moninger, East High School Sophomore, leads the MHSHL (Midwest High School Hockey League) with seven shutouts.

Panthers go up against strong competition at triangular

Lots of wrestling was had when Dakota Valley traveled to Colton, South Dakota for an away triangular versus Tri-Valley (TV) and Madison. The battles occurred on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. No team victories were earned, but DV showed prowess on the mat.

DV Panther epsorts teams continue strong play

The Panther esports department faced hard competition from January 13 to January 16, 2025. Matches were made especially difficult as some gaming titles had Dakota Valley squaring off against each other for top honors.

A trio of games were in store for the Panthers in mid-January. This meant tough competition and fierce play by all on January 14, 16 and 18 in 2025.

EPJ Husky boys drop one away, win one at home

Two close games greeted the Elk Point-Jefferson boys basketball team on January 14 and January 16, 2025. It was a split on wins and losses, as the away game against Wagner resulted in defeat by just 1 point. However, a home court advantage later in the week boosted EPJ to a victory against Ponca, Nebraska.

A trio of games meant triple the victories for the Elk Point-Jefferson girls basketball team in mid-January. A hectic schedule did not damper the play of the Huskies, as they came away with huge wins versus Wagner, Ponca and Aberdeen Roncalli.

EPJ wrestlers win against Lennox and Vermillion

Excellent wrestling and tough competition were both on display for the Huskies on Thursday, January 16, 2025. The squad was in Lennox to battle it out on the mat against the Orioles and the Vermillion Tanagers.
