DV Volleyball State Preview 2022

Dakota Valley continues their powerhouse season as another state berth is earned and takes the roster to the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls for contests Nov. 17, 18 and 19.

Bruns signs with USD

Dakota Valley senior Isaac Bruns will trade in his Panther uniform for a Coyote jersey next year as he signed on to play Division 1 collegiate basketball at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion.

Pruchniak signs with USF

Senior Jake Pruchniak signed his national letter of intent on Wednesday, November 9th to play baseball at the University of Sioux Falls. Pruchniak will be used as a pitcher at the NCAA Division II school where USF competes in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

Making history: Huskies head to state for first time

For the first time in Elk Point-Jefferson history, not only does the football team have an 11-0 record, but they have punched their ticket to the State 11B Football tournament. They secured their ticket with a 47-14 win over Hot Springs, Nov. 4 at home.

Husky volleyball team qualifies for SoDak-16

The Elk Point-Jef ferson Huskies clawed their way through two games – Beresford (Nov. 1) and Canton (Nov. 3) – to secure their way into the SoDak-16. Elk Point -Jef fe rson hosted Beresford Nov. 1 and brought them down in 3 matches – 27-25; 25-23; 25-19. It was a battle to the finish with Natalie Heuertz putting down 14 kills on the night and followed by Bentlee Kollbaum at 9. Danica Torrez led the Huskies with 3 ace serves and was followed by Alyssa Chytka and Hannah Nearman with 2 each. Josie Curry had the sole block on the night. Chytka added 26 digs to her career and was followed by Sophia Giorgio at 15 and Torrez with 12. Giorgio added 33 assists.

Panthers advance to SoDak-16

The Dakota Valley volleyball squad hosted their 1st bracket game of Class A - Region 4 play on Tuesday, Nov. 1.

Huskies improve record to 10-0: Advance to Semi-finals

The Redfield Pheasants didn’t stand a chance as they walked on to the Elk Point-Jefferson Husky field Thursday, Oct. 27. Once again, the Huskies dominated the field in all aspects of the game and sent the Pheasants home with a loss and the end of their season.

Huskies lose close battle

The Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies battled hard Oct. 25 in Vermillion. The girls weren’t quite able to pull it all together and lost 2-3 against the Tanagers – 1625; 30-28; 23-25; 25-11; 12-- 15. Judging from the scores, it was a definite battle to the finish in almost every set.

Panthers fall in first round of play-offs

It was the 1st round of play-offs for the Dakota Valley football program as they traveled north to take on Sioux Falls Christian (SFC) Thursday, Oct. 27. The #5 seeded Panthers worked hard, but struggled against the Chargers who were #4 in the Class 11A play-off bracket.
