Now that football playoffs and region volleyball begin, the South Dakota High School Activities Association (SDHSAA) want to remind spectators (adults and students) of what is and is not acceptable behavior during the games. SDHSAA Spectator Reminders:

Huskies advance to state quarterfinals

The Huskies continue to show their dominance on the football field as they took down Rapid City Christian 58-7 Thursday, Oct. 20 in the first round of playoffs.

Cross takes 9th at state

October 22 was the South Dakota High School State Cross Country meet in Huron. With warm and breezy weather conditions, the Huskies two runners – Joe Cross and Ashley Stark – were anticipating a fun day for racing. For the Class A girls, the team win went to the dominant Sioux Falls Christian girls. Ashley Stark from Elk Point-Jefferson was our State Girls’ qualifier, and started the race strong with a solid first mile, but ran in to trouble in the second mile and was unable to finish. Sioux Valley’s Isabelle Bloker won the race, setting a meet record for Class A.

Huskies down Bulldogs

Elk Point-Jefferson travelled to Madison to take on the Bulldogs Oct. 21.

DV Panther Volleyball comes away with 2 wins

The Panther volleyball team was busy through the end of regular season play. Dakota Valley travelled to Vermillion on Oct. 21 and hosted Tea Area Oct. 24. Both matches had the Panthers coming away with victories.

Panther XC performs well at state

It was the grand finale to a successful cross country season for the Panthers at the state meet Oct. 22. The varsity rosters, consisting of 6 girls and 6 boys, ran and represented Dakota Valley well at the Broadland Creek Golf Course in Huron.

Cheer takes 1st in small team stunts,tumbling,places 6th overall

The Dakota Valley competitive cheer roster brought home accolades from the state cheer competition on Oct. 21, 2022. The Panthers competed in Watertown with fellow Class A and Class AA schools to end their season on a strong note.

Panthers fight during Thursday night contest

The last home football game of the Panther’s regular season was a little different for two reasons. It was played under the Thursday night lights on Oct. 20 versus a Friday, and it was also senior night for Dakota Valley.
