Elk Point-Jefferson girls put on a tail-wagger of a game Saturday, Dec. 10 on their home court in the match-up against the Madison Bulldogs.

A new season full of new beginnings

Coming off of a 8-14 season, the Elk Point-Jefferson girls basketball team looks forward to a new season full of new beginnings. One of those being, a new head coach.

Seniors will lead the way

This year’s Elk Point-Jefferson wrestling team will be lead by many state placers and qualifiers. The team will look to Lucas Hueser and Ben Swatek who are moving up into the top 10 for all-time victories at EPJ.

Huskies aiming for a state berth

Last year, the Elk Point-Jefferson boys basketball season ended when Vermillion knocked them out in the first round of regions. This year, the Huskies, led by head coach Jeremy Otkin (fourth year), look forward to punching their ticket to the state tournament. Otkin is assisted by JV coach Zach Ronning (third year) and C-team coach Adam Timmins (first year).

Orioles peck at Panthers; trampled by Titans

It was a close away game for the Dakota Valley girls varsity basketball roster as they fell short to Lennox 4550 on Tuesday, Dec. 6th.

Panthers claw at Titans

The first basketball game of the season for the Panther boys was an away contest versus Tea Area Friday, Dec. 9. Dakota Valley came ready to play and ready to win as they controlled the game for all 4 quarters to beat the Titans 67-43.

DV Panthers battle Iowa

The Panther wrestling team had their _rst school competition of the season Saturday, Dec. 3 at MOC-Floyd Valley in Orange City, IA. In addition to MOC-FV, the Panthers also dualed with two other Iowa schools. They were Spirit Lake Park and West Lyon.

Wrestling opens season with 4th place

The Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies wrestling team opened their season at the Flandreau Booster Club Invitational Saturday, Dec. 3. Out of 12 teams, the Huskies brought home a 4th place finish, with multiple wrestlers placing in the top 4 of their divisions.

Cross: Named Assistant Coach of the Year for 2022

Steve Cross, the assistant cross country coach for Elk Point-Jefferson, was awarded as the Area 2 Assistant Coach of the Year. He will receive a plaque either in February or March of 2023.
