Panthers push through heat and hills at Canton meet

The hills were alive as the Panther cross country squad ran hard through elevated terrain at the team’s meet, in Canton, on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Warm weather was present, but strong times still prevailed across the board for varsity, junior varsity and middle school.

On Monday, the Huskies traveled to Vermillion to compete at The Bluffs for the first of many events scheduled at the course this season. Conditions were warmer than Friday’s round in Mitchell, but the wind played a major role throughout the day.

Excitement could be felt as the Huskies traveled to Winner to take on the Warriors, in football, on Friday, September 12, 2025. Both squads are fierce and close contests often ensue whenever they are competing under the Friday Night Lights. This time, Elk Point-Jefferson was the big winner as they defeated the Winner Warriors 20-8.

The Huskies had their first away game of the 2025 season on Friday, September 5, 2025. Elk Point-Jefferson traveled to Mount Vernon/Plankinton (MVP) and came away with a defining win. Leading the entire way, the scoreboard read 32-12 in favor of the Huskies when the last moments ticked down to end the game.
