The almost three and a half hour drive to Miller, SD didn’t dampen the Huskies Spirit as they prepared to challenge the Miller/Highmore-Harrold Rustlers. The Huskies came out strong, putting 14 points on the board with two rushing touchdowns and the point after touchdowns (PAT) good from Carson Timmins.

It was a rough start to volleyball in Sioux Falls on Sept. 28 as the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies took on the Sioux Falls Christian Chargers. The first set would belong to SFC who dominated and barely let EPJ get on the board recording the set 7-25. The second and third sets were different as the Huskies fought back and showed they could compete against the Chargers. Even though the Huskies lost in 3 (7-25; 2125; 19-25), they played with heart.

The Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies hosted the Region 2A golf meet on Monday, Sept. 25.

The Huskies left early on Sept. 22 to travel to Flandreau and beat the incoming storm.

Mason Marx, running in the boys varsity 5K event on Sept. 18 in Alcester, earned his way to a 9th place finish with a time of 19:12.76. Even though he was the lone Husky medalist, his other teammates helped secure a 4th place finish as a team.

The Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies travelled up the I-29 corridor to visit the Beresford Watchdogs Sept. 19.

“It was a tale of two halves,” described head coach Jake Terry after Friday night’s Homecoming win over Mc-Cook Central/Montrose. “First half we looked like a team that hadn’t played a game in two weeks. We really cleaned some things up in the second half and the guys did a great job. 100 percent credit to them coming out after halftime and playing up to their potential.”

The Elk Point-Jefferson golfers had a big Homecoming week with two home matches and taking first in one of the matches. On Sept.

The Orioles flew in Sept. 12, snagged a victory and flew back home.
