The culmination of a ton of hard work in the regular season all came to a head for the Elk Point-Jefferson wrestling team as they hosted girls and boys regional contests for 2026. Region 2B brackets for the girls competed on Thursday, February 19, 2026 and the boys hit the mats on February 21, 2026.

It was hustle and bustle for the Elk Point-Jefferson girls varsity basketball team as they played a trio of games in 4 days. First up was a contest in Nebraska, on February 10, 2026, versus a Crofton program with a history of excellence.

Huskies push opponents in three‑game run

Two road trips sandwiched a home contest for the Elk Point-Jefferson boys basketball team starting on February 10, 2026. The 1st away game was versus the West Monona Spartans of Onawa, Iowa. It was a close contest that ended with EPJ just short by a score of 64-66.

EPJ tops Dakota Valley in Senior Night thriller

A competitive evening unfolded for the Elk Point-Jefferson wrestling team as they hosted nearby Dakota Valley, for “Senior Night”, on February 10, 2026. While the matches took centerstage in the exciting atmosphere, the 12th graders affiliated with Husky wrestling were also recognized. Keaton Hinds and Owen Rigg, plus managers Delaney Thorson and Kayla Sharkey, have worked hard for Husky wrestling and will all be missed next season. Tyler Nolz, head wrestling coach at EPJ, is grateful for these four seniors and their dedication.

February started with a full schedule for the Elk Point-Jefferson wrestling team as they traveled to Garretson on February 3, 2026 and then Canistota on February 5, 2026. To end the week the Huskies went up against a lot of stellar opponents for the Big East/LCC Tournament on February 7, 2026.

A home dual and big tournament kept the Elk Point-Jefferson wrestling team busy to end January. As hosts on Thursday, January 29, 2026 the Huskies faced Tri-Valley (TV), West Monona-Whiting (WEMO) and Dell Rapids (DR) in a quadrangular. They bested Dell Rapids by a team score of 42-27. However, EPJ fell 36-48 in a close one with WEMO and by a margin of 18-62 to TV.
