The regular season started with a bang for the Elk Point-Jefferson girls basketball team as they had 2 games in 3 days. First up was a road trip to Canton on Thursday, December 12, 2024. It was an intense battle versus the C-Hawks who are a formidable regional rival.

The Huskies wrestled well at the West Sioux Invite on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. Elk Point-Jefferson won their duals versus Andes Central Dakota Christian (ACDC) and Canistota. They fell to McCook Central/Montrose (MCM) and West Sioux.

Husky senior Bentlee Kollbaum was named an all-star and a nominee for South Dakota Miss Volleyball due to her incredible play in the 2024 volleyball season. An event for all of the allstars was hosted by the South Dakota Volleyball Coaches Association (SDVBCA) on Sunday, December 8, 2024. It was an opportunity for the SDVBCA to honor Kollbaum and many other talented volleyball seniors from across the state.

Elk Point-Jefferson kicked off the 2024/25 wrestling season in Flandreau on Saturday, December 7, 2024. Wrestlers went up against many formidable opponents at the annual Flandreau Booster Club Invitational. The EPJ squad took 2nd place as a team and Head Coach Tyler Nolz thought his Huskies performed well.

The Huskies wrapped up a strong 2024 football season on November 8, 2024. Elk Point-Jefferson ended their run in the postseason with a winning record of 8-3 on the season. Strong senior leadership and outstanding play on both sides of the line contributed greatly to success for the Huskies this past season. They fell just one game short of the state finals. The #2 seed Winner defeated #1 Sioux Valley for the 11B state title on Friday, November 15, 2024.

Competitive regional volleyball greeted Elk Point-Jefferson for the 1st full week of November. With an outstanding regular season in the books, the Huskies drew a #2 seed for Class A Region 4. This had them facing the #7 seed Vermillion on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

The Class 11B semifinal football match-up had Elk Point-Jefferson at Sioux Valley on Friday, November 8, 2024. The Huskies took on the Cossacks in a game to determine who would advance to the state championship finals. Both teams played incredibly hard for their school. In a tough game, EPJ was handed a loss on the road by a score of 14-28.

The Elk Point-Jefferson football team was in for a Halloween treat on Thursday, October 31, 2024 as they secured a playoff victory versus Clark/Willow Lake (CWL). The win extended EPJ’s season and advanced the team to the state semifinals.

For Elk Point-Jefferson’s last volleyball match of the regular season, on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, they had to travel to Vermillion to take on the Tanagers. The Huskies did not mess around at all during the away contest as they swept Vermillion in epic fashion.

It would be “Thursday Night Lights” instead of the typical “Friday Night Lights” for Elk Point-Jefferson’s football team on Thursday, October 24, 2024. The Huskies started round 1 of South Dakota 11B playoffs at home versus the Fliers of Flandreau.
