John Paul Gille, 63, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones in La Crosse, Wisconsin on May 11. John was born in Hazel Green, Wisconsin to parents Edmund and Edith (Klaas) on February 27, 1960.

Howard James Erickson of Spink, SD passed away peacefully at his home on May 6, 2023. Howard was born Aug. 2, 1945 to George and Dorcus (Norman) Erickson in Beresford, SD. His early education was at the Gothland Rural School and later attended Beresford High School. Howard was united in marriage to Mary LaVonne Johnson of Centerville, SD on Feb. 23, 1963. They started their family in Beresford, SD before moving to Spink in 1968 where they built their home, raised their two boys and joined Brule Creek Lutheran Church. He was a dedicated member of the community and served several years on the Clay Rural Water board.

Erica Caplinger, age 38, was born at Of futt Air Force Base Hospital on June 28, 1984. She attended Bellevue Public Schools, graduating from Bellevue West High School in 2002. She worked at several retail jobs over the years, but often found it difficult due to her illness.

Lenora B. Roseland of Apache Junction, AZ previously of Vermillion, SD passed away at The Summit at Sunland Springs long term care facility on Jan. 12, 2023. A Celebration Of Life will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Elk Point, SD on Saturday May 6, 2023 beginning at 10 a.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Committal Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. following the service at the Bancroft City Cemetery in Bancroft, NE.

Memorial services for Elaine McInerney, age 94, of Creighton, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elk Point, SD. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Elk Point.

Tyler D. Hudelson, 32, of Elk Point, SD, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023 in Sioux City, IA.

On March 2nd, 2023, Fern M. Chicoine, age 95, passed away peacefully at Bickford Cottages in Sioux City, IA.

Walter K. Davis, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Sanford Health Vermillion Care Center. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Miller Funeral Home – Westside Chapel. Family was present one hour prior to receive guests. Interment will be held at Elk Point Cemetery with military honors at a later date. Memorial Mass will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Walt’s honor.

Donald J. Johnson, 92, of Jefferson, SD passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his loving animals and his daughter, Kimmberlina, and step son William Jeffords.

Peggy Ann Layhee, 77 of Dakota Dunes passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2023. A Memorial visitation was held Monday, March 20 followed by a prayer service at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
