Road closure scheduled

As of Monday, March 31, 2025, S.D. Highway 46 was closed to through traffic from S.D. Highway 11 to 297th Street (Hudson Curve). This closure will be in place for the duration of the reconstruction project through November 2025.

UC Electric Coop hosts Friends Feast

DV Jazz Band shows musical expertise in Vermillion

The Dakota Valley Jazz Band showed off their musical expertise, in Vermillion, on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. The Panthers were competing in the University of South Dakota’s Coyote Jazz Festival. Brian LeMaster, DV’s high school band director, was pleased to see his students bring home a runner-up finish within their class for 2A Jazz Ensembles.

A talented group of Dakota Valley middle schoolers performed Everyone Gets Eaten by Sharks by Marshal Pailet on March 17 and March 18, 2025. Both shows took place at 7 pm in the Panther’s Performing Arts Center.

County accepts bid to replace courthouse HVAC

On March 18, 2025, the Union County Board of Commissioners convened for their regular session at the Courthouse in Elk Point, South Dakota. The meeting began at 8:30 a.m. and was attended by Commissioners Dailey, Joffer, Kimmel, and Ustad.
