Dunes residents could see sewer increases in 2023

With Sioux City’s newest wastewater agreement, Dunes residents could be seeing more money added to their sewer bills. The new contract was presented at the Dakota Dunes Community Improvement District Board of Supervisors meeting, Sept. 19.

Dakota Dunes holds Fall Festival

The Dakota Dunes Community Association (DDCA) held their 8th annual Fall Festival Sunday, Oct. 2 in the afternoon from 3 to 6 p.m. The weather cooperated and it was a gorgeous fall day as residents of Dakota Dunes came to the tennis courts of the country club for entertainment, food and fun.

Graham Airpark closes land sale with North Sioux City

The Claussen Group announced that the Graham Airpark Development recently closed a land sale of 95+/- acres with the North Sioux City Economic Development Committee (NSCEDC). According to Stephen Jones, Graham Airpark Developer, this is a “huge” step forward to building a world-class, public-use Executive Airpark with a 6600’ runway in southeast South Dakota.

Boaters, cabin owners should be mindful of low water levels

As summer transitions to fall, South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks (GFP) wants boat/ cabin owners to be aware of low water levels in some areas. One of the primary concerns with these low water levels has been launching and loading boats, but cabin owners need to be aware of water levels as well.

Siouxland Humane Society brings back Quilt Auction

The Siouxland Humane Society will hold a live Quilt Auction on Thursday, Oct. 13, at the Sioux City Community Theatre at 1401 Riverside Blvd. Appetizers will be served and a cash bar will be available.

County sewer pipe project to move forward

Ongoing sewer issues at the Union County Courthouse have prompted an emergency situation to fix old cast iron sewer lines. Curt Hlavacek of Midwest Pipe Lining out of Watertown, SD was present at the Union County Board of County Commission meeting Sept. 20 to discuss his business and how the courthouse could benefit from their services.

Rosenquist, Morales reign over 2022 Homecoming

Dakota Valley’s 2022 Homecoming Coronation was Monday, Sept. 26 in the school’s performing arts centers. Queen Veronica Morales and King Randy Rosenquist Jr. were crowned after a slew of skits from each of the high school grades.
