The Dakota Valley High School Jazz Band took first place at the Iowa Lakes Jazz Festival Jan. 20.

Logan Miller was awarded for her outstanding solo on the Flute.

Nick Hanson was awarded for his outstanding solo on the Trumpet. Jayden Axtel was awarded for his outstanding solo on the Trombone.

Owen Norby was awarded for his outstanding solo on the Tenor Saxophone.

They competed at the Iowa Lakes Jazz Festival in class 4A and finished in 1st place. Pat Phisitkul, - Piano, Owen Norby - Tenor Saxophone, Jayden Axtel - Trombone, Nick Hanson - Trumpet and Logan Miller - Flute were all awarded outstanding solo awards.
