Lady Huskies win on the road, drop one at home

Two consecutive nights of basketball were on the calendar for the Elk Point-Jefferson girls basketball team. The Huskies traveled to Parker on December 19, 2024 and hosted Sioux Falls Christian (SFC) on December 20, 2024.

Adams Homestead Holidays adds Christmas spirit

Council transfers funds to support recovery

On December 16, 2024, the North Sioux City City Council convened for its regular meeting at 7:00 p.m., led by Mayor Patti Teel. Present at the meeting were council members Kodi Benson, Gary Bogenrief, Jim Christenson, Joan Christiansen, Bob Davis, Lonnie Green, Lynn Hoffman, and Greg Meyer, along with City Administrator Jeff Dooley, City Finance Officer Amy Lilly, and City Attorney Sarah Kleber.

Dakota Valley National Honor Society volunteers time

High school members of Dakota Valley’s National Honor Society spent time after school on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 to make blankets for those in need. The students fringed and cut cozy material in an effort to help the non-profit organization called Project Warm-Up.

Dakota Valley girls finish strong against Beresford

The Watchdogs of Beresford came to face the Panther girls basketball team on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. It was the home opener for Dakota Valley and the varsity girls started strong right away versus the competition. That stamina stayed with the Panthers as they won 71-51.

It was another exciting week for Panther esports athletes as Dakota Valley faced opponents on multiple days from December 9-12, 2024. “We started off the week with Mario Kart,” remarked Head Coach Mike Oberg.

DV grapplers compete well and stay tough on the mat

The Panther varsity wrestling squad was in Elk Point on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. They faced off against the Canton C-Hawks and the Elk Point-Jefferson (EPJ) Huskies in a triangular. Good matches were observed, but ultimately Dakota Valley fell 11-68 to Canton and 29-41 to EPJ.
