EPJ wrestlers compete well

A good day was had by the Elk Point-Jefferson wrestling squad as the team competed in the Mc-Cook Central Montrose (MCM) Invitational on Saturday, January 4, 2024. The Huskies went up against schools from all over South Dakota as over 20 teams converged in Salem, SD to compete.

Lady Huskies beat Viborg-Hurley

The Elk Point-Jefferson girls basketball team opened up play in 2025 with a big win over Viborg-Hurley (VH) in the Midwest Miracles Classic. The game took place on January 4th and was a fierce game for the Huskies.

It was a tough game to end 2024 for the Elk Point-Jefferson boys basketball squad in the Huron Holiday Classic. They took a loss against Wessington Springs by a score of 3856 on December 30, 2024.

EPJ’s Eriksen is SEAPs Principal of the Year

The Southeast Area Principals Association has named Elk Point-Jefferson’s Skyler Eriksen as “Principal of the Year”. Eriksen has been an important part of the Husky family and has served the district for the past six years with great leadership and passion.

Kind Like Karlee

Goodbyes are typically never easy and on November 14, 2024 an especially hard one happened in the local community. Karlee Hughes, of Dakota Dunes, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 19.

Panther Esports ranked first in all sanctioned titles

Prior to winter break, the Panther esports team had a successful week of competition. Many victories were tallied and Dakota Valley continued to show the state that they are one of the top high schools for esports in South Dakota.

Dakota Valley girls and boys have strong performances

Wrestlers from Dakota Valley were busy on Saturday, December 21st with the boys at Elk Point-Jefferson and the girls at Canton. Strong performances were observed by all and Panther Head Coach Grayson Pirner was happy with how his squad competed on the mat.

Huskies had busy schedule, faced strong competition

Busy times and strong competition were in store for the Elk Point-Jefferson boys basketball team as they had 3 consecutive days of games prior to winter break. The Huskies went up against Parker on Thursday, December 19, 2024. The next evening they hosted Sioux Falls Christian and then on Saturday, December 21, 2024 they went across the river to take on Sergeant Bluff-Luton.
