Panther XC performs well at state

It was the grand finale to a successful cross country season for the Panthers at the state meet Oct. 22. The varsity rosters, consisting of 6 girls and 6 boys, ran and represented Dakota Valley well at the Broadland Creek Golf Course in Huron.

South Dakota Well Drillers Association offers scholarships

The South Dakota Well Drillers Association (SDWDA) announced that it is offering the “SDWDA Quality Groundwater Scholarships” totaling $10,000 to be divided between five deserving students. There will be one $4,000, one $3,000 and three $1,000 scholarships awarded.

South Dakota outperforms nation on ACT

Dakota’s graduating class of 2022 earned an average ACT composite score of 21.5, which is above the national average of 19.8 and the highest among neighboring states. Considering the state’s public school test-takers only, the average composite score was 21.6. The ACT is used to gain admission into colleges and universities throughout the country and for scholarship consideration.

Cheer takes 1st in small team stunts,tumbling,places 6th overall

The Dakota Valley competitive cheer roster brought home accolades from the state cheer competition on Oct. 21, 2022. The Panthers competed in Watertown with fellow Class A and Class AA schools to end their season on a strong note.

Panthers fight during Thursday night contest

The last home football game of the Panther’s regular season was a little different for two reasons. It was played under the Thursday night lights on Oct. 20 versus a Friday, and it was also senior night for Dakota Valley.

South Dakota Election information

South Dakotans will take to the polls Nov. 8 to vote in this year’s general election. While multiple races are happening at the state level, there will be some district races and court appointments for people to vote on. Along with this are two more items – Initiated Measure 27 and Constitutional Amendment D.

Wilson Trailer expands in Lennox

Wilson Trailer will double its production space in Lennox, SD with a $17.9 million expansion. The expansion will fill the Lennox Industrial Park which is located south of the football field and track and east of the high school.

Christmas at the Homestead
