The EPJ Youth Husky wrestlers traveled to the state wrestling tournament in Rapid City on March 15-16. Eleven wrestlers qualified and four were able to make it to the podium.

Two students place at State Art Show

Two Dakota Valley art students came home with hardware from the South Dakota High School Activities Association’s annual art show on March 15 and 16. They were Sophia Durr for ceramics and Maddy Grooms for mixed media. Both Panthers received second place medals.

Dakota Valley Panthers bring home bronze

The Panther boys basketball team ended their incredible season with a 3rd place title from the state tournament in Rapid City on March 14-16, 2024. They faced the Pine Ridge Thorpes in their 1st round of play, followed by a semifinal versus Sioux Falls Christian. Their last game was against Rapid City Christian. All contests showed the grit and athleticism of Dakota Valley.

DAK-XII All-Conference basketball honors

Members of the Dakota Valley Girls and Boys Basketball teams were named to the DAKXII All-Conference teams. From the girls basketball team, eighth grader Ellan Otten was named to the first team and junior Cameryn Sommervold to the third team.

Middle School thespians hit the stage

Applause could be heard in the Performing Arts Center at Dakota Valley on March 11 and 12 as middle schoolers took the stage to perform “Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Your Teachers (but were afraid to ask)”. Both shows were performed at 7 p.m. and well received by those in the audience.

DV Band members earn awards at region competition

On Wednesday, Feb. 28, members of the Dakota Valley high school band participated in the Region 1 Band Solo and Ensemble Festival held at Lennox High School. A multitude of SUPERIOR ratings, which are the highest on the judging scale, were earned by the Panthers as well as two EXCELLENT ratings.
