DV cross county teams show strength, finish well

The Dakota Valley varsity cross country team saw success for both the girls and the boys on August 30, 2024 in Beresford. It was a huge meet with over 30 teams in attendance and more than 600 runners racing. Individual medals were awarded to the top 20 place winners.

Dakota Valley pulls off big win against Dell Rapids

Coming in as the underdog against Dell Rapids, the Panther football team showed up big time on Friday, August 30, 2024. In an away game, Dakota Valley defeated the preseason ranked #2 Quarriers and snapped the 2-season win streak that Dell Rapids had going after winning state in 2022 and 2023.

Lady Panthers take down the Yankton Gazelles

In their inaugural match of the 2024 volleyball season, the Panthers showed perseverance to take down the Yankton Gazelles on Thursday, August 29. It took 4 sets, but Dakota Valley played well against a larger Class AA school in South Dakota.

Panther boys soccer team battles hard in loss to Bobcats

The Panther boys soccer squad had their 1st home contest on Friday, August 30. It was a rematch versus the Freeman Academy Bobcats who Dakota Valley had faced the week prior on August 24. That earlier game on the pitch had DV falling 2-7, so the Panthers were looking to keep the match closer and come away with a victory.

Dakota Valley girls soccer squad has busy week, win two

It was a busy week of soccer for the Dakota Valley girls team as they played 3 games throughout the last week of August. Their 1st match was a tough one away versus Sioux Falls Christian (SFC). Despite falling 0-2 on the pitch, the Panthers performed well and showed grit.

$250,000 for flood relief efforts

The National Association of REALTORS (NAR) REALTOR Relief Foundation (RRF) is providing a substantial $250,000 in aid to support communities in Southeastern South Dakota affected by recent flooding from June 16th to July 8th. The areas impacted have been officially designated as disaster zones by both Governor Kristi Noem and President Joe Biden.

Panther golfers continue to dominate on the course

The Panther boys golf team continued to dominate throughout the last week of August. On Tuesday, August 26 they tied Vermillion’s score for the top spot at the Dell Rapids meet and then defended their home course well at the Two Rivers Invite on August 28.

Langle breaks EPJ school record, wins event

The Huskies played some competitive golf on August 26 and August 28 to close out the month. They traveled north to play in Dell Rapids and later in the week Elk Point-Jefferson went south to hit the links at Two Rivers in Dakota Dunes.
