Huskies started strong against the Madison Bulldogs

Cold spring weather wreaked havoc on the softball schedule for the Huskies as their game versus Madison was delayed 1 day. It also had to be played at a different venue. Originally scheduled for Tuesday, May 20, as an away game versus the Bulldogs, it was postponed until Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at noon. The game was played on a turf field at the Sanford Diamonds in Sioux Falls.

Panther heavy hitters helped score big over Tornadoes

For the 1st full week of May, the Panther baseball team went 1-1 versus opponents on their home field. Defense and pitching were highlighted on Monday, May 5, 2025 as Dakota Valley fell to Vermillion 0-1. The bats heated back up on Thursday, May 8, 2025 as the Panthers won versus Centerville.

Panthers go the distance, break records at recent meets

Better weather was finally sticking around for high school track and Dakota Valley was taking advantage of Mother Nature’s generosity. Personal records, season best times and top marks were garnered by the Panthers in the 1st full week of May.

Dakota Valley golfers compete well at Dell Rapids Invite

Freshman Katie Betsworth shot an outstanding round of golf to take 1st place, at the Dell Rapids Invite, on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. Betsworth secured a score of 77 to be just +5 over par. Her Dakota Valley teammates also had great games for the roster to finish high on the podium.

Grudge fest leads to major Panther win over Trojans

Dakota Valley took on the #1 West Central Trojans in softball on May 5, 2025 in a home game for the Panthers. With a nice crowd in the stands, DV came back in the bottom of the 7th with 2 outs and 2 runners on base. Junior catcher Mia Riibe hit a walk-off homerun to give the Panthers the lead, and the victory, by a score of 6-4. It was an incredible night of competition and the 1st time that DV has beat top ranked WC since high school softball was sanctioned in South Dakota.

EPJ Huskies represent well during busy week of competition

Busy was the theme for the Huskies as it pertained to track and field in the first full week of May. Elk Point-Jefferson was at Beresford competing on May 6, 2025 and a couple of days later they participated in the 1st Dakota Relays, in Yankton, on May 8, 2025.

Huskies pick up another big win versus Watchdogs

The winning streak continued for Elk Point-Jefferson on May 11, 2025 as they bested Beresford 17-2. Even more impressive was that the Huskies needed just 4 innings to secure the victory against the Watchdogs.

The Elk Point-Jefferson softball squad had a tough away game, at Beresford, on Friday, May 9, 2025. The Huskies only collected 3 hits and fell 0-7 to the Watchdogs.

Lady Panthers stay disciplined, gain strength

The DAK 12 conference tournament started off Dakota Valley’s week of softball on Monday, April 28, 2025. The Panthers were a #3 seed in the tourney and had games at the Sanford Diamond versus #9 Vermillion and #4 Madison.
