Cheer makes routine more difficult

The competitive cheer squad for Dakota Valley travelled north to Harrisburg to perform in front of a large crowd where many schools from Class A and Class AA were gathered to compete Saturday, Sept. 24.

DV downs WC, loses to SFC

West Central was no match for the Dakota Valley varsity volleyball squad on Tuesday, Sept. 20. The Panthers swept the Trojans in three quick games to continue their superb season. Scores were: 25-8, 25-6 and 2510.

Panthers defend home turf

The varsity girls soccer team protected their home turf on Tuesday, Sept. 20 as the Panthers rolled past the Blue Dragons of Garretson in a 6-1 victory.

Boys lose two contests

The boys soccer team travelled to play against the Vermillion Tanagers in an away game this past Thursday. Vermillion’s varsity went into the match with a record of 5-2-1. The Panther boys worked hard and are waiting anxiously for their first victory of the season. It was not to be on September 22nd, as the Panthers fell 0-9.

A tough match-up occurred for the Dakota Valley girls soccer squad on Thursday, Sept. 22.

Panthers win the Old Canteen at the Union County Quad

It was an epic day for the Dakota Valley cross country team as they conquered a feat that has not occurred since 2012. After outstanding showings by runners at all age levels, the Panthers secured a resounding 1st place finish at The Pointe Golf Course in Elk Point to take home the Union County Quad Canteen.

Huskies go 2 for 2 on road:

The Elk Point-Jefferson volleyball team was on fire last week on the road, winning against Lennox in 5 and Tea Area in 4. Between the two games, it was also a memorable moment for two senior Huskies.

Huskies host Invite

Elk Point-Jefferson hosted their annual Husky Invite Sept. 15 at The Pointe Golf Course in Elk Point. Eight teams, including EPJ, participated in the matchplay event. In match play, 8 players from each school are paired together in brackets. The players then are given points that go toward their team’s overall score. First place finishers garner 12 points, 2nd 10 points, 3rd 8 points, 4th and 5th places 6 points, 6th place 4 points, 7th place 2 points and 8th place 1 point. The team with the most points wins the invite.

EPJ takes 2nd in pool play

The volleyball team travelled to Tyndall Saturday, Sept. 17 to participated in the Cavalier Clash. The tournament had 16 participants broken into 4 pool brackets. EPJ played in pool 2 with Gregory, Bon Homme and Parker.

Elk Point-Jefferson gains experience

The Huskies were able to gain some experience last week with two exhibition meets – a dual against Vermillion Sept. 6 and a triangular in Canton Sept.
