This week, and every week, newspapers are for you

Americans have more media options than ever. We are inundated with stories, memes, videos and promotions 24 hours a day. Bids opened, properties leased

Every year the Union County Board of County Commissioners leases out some of its fairground buildings and property in Elk Point. This year however, the commissioners had a discussion at their Sept. 19 meeting on whether the fairground parking lot area should be let. A motion was made to not lease the property this year and came down to a roll call vote. Commissioner Mike Dailey voted against the motion while commissioners Kevin Joffer, Tom Kimmel and Rich Headid voted in favor. Commission Chairman Milton Ustad abstained. The vote passed 3-1-1 and the property was not added to the bid list.
