Workforce housing planned for North Sioux City

When the City of North Sioux City purchased land east of city limits near the Flynn Business District, they had planned on incorporating housing. The city, in search of another resource, reached out to a private developer – PBR Capital Group, LLC. PBR stepped up to partner with the city to design a new workforce housing community located west of Interstate 29.

Over 150 youth wrestlers, including over a dozen from Dakota Valley, were in Elk Point on Sunday, Jan. 21 for the EPJ Youth Wrestling Tournament. It was a round robin format with multiple weight classes and age divisions. Boys and girls from preschool through grade school showed strength and grit on the mats throughout the entire event.

Updated open meeting laws guide

An updated guide explaining South Dakota’s Open Meeting Laws has been released by South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley and the South Dakota NewsMedia Association (SDNA). The guide, released for the first time since 2017, is designed to better explain the state’s meeting laws to both media outlets and local government agencies.
