In North Sioux City, South Dakota, a recount in the recent special election has altered the outcome of the one-year commissioner race. Initially, David James Wilch was declared the winner by a narrow margin of two votes over Vincent D. Tucker. However, after a recount conducted on April 15, Tucker emerged victorious with 400 votes to Wilch’s 398.
The four-year commissioner race also underwent a recount. The original count had Lynn Hoffman ahead with 399 votes to Kodi Benson’s 384. The recount slightly adjusted the totals to 397 for Hoffman and 383 for Benson, maintaining Hoffman’s victory.
