DV holds Cultural Fair

Seventh graders at Dakota Valley filled the middle school commons and auxiliary gym to showcase countries from around the world on Wednesday, Dec. 20 for the annual Culture Fair. The event was held from 1:45 p.m. to 3 p.m. with students spread throughout the area.

Elk Point United Parish holds Christmas program

Children in the Sunday School program at Elk Point United Parish were part of a Christmas Program held Sunday, Dec. 17. The children enacted “The Christmas Story,” a traditional retelling of the birth of Jesus. There were about 20 kids involved from preschool age through 5th grade. They had two rehearsals on Wednesday evenings before the final performance on Dec. 17.

Dakota Valley Panthers downs Lakota Tech

December 22 brought a long road trip that was on the books for the Panther boys basketball team in Pine Ridge, SD to kick off winter break. Lakota Tech scored a 3 to start things, but Dakota Valley answered quickly with scores of their own. The Panthers were running and gunning to push up the floor early. Cub Scouts to pick up Christmas Trees

Scouts from Troop and Pack 28 will be picking up real used Christmas Trees Jan. 6. They will bring the trees to Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center where they will be recycled into mulch for their paths and trails. Please have trees on sidewalks undecorated and unbagged, as the nature center will just have to remove the bag prior to shredding.

City sends letter

The City of North Sioux City has received various calls about the Union Crossing Project asking questions. Throughout the conversations and questions, the city has heard many items of misinformation. Because of this, the city sent out a Frequently Asked Questions information sheets with the December utility bills.
