The Dakota Valley Cross Country teams used the DAK-12 Conference Meet in Madison as a way to better themselves for the region meet next week. Madison’s course is on the difficult side, but the DV runners rose to the challenge.

In the girls varisty 5K race, Valerie Norby finished in 32nd with a time of 24:19, followed by Claire Kilcullen at 24:35. The JV girls took 4th place as a team, with Maylee Rose leading the way in 11th place with a 19:40 finish. She was followed by Lizzie Mueller in 14th 20:18, Mia Riibe 25th 21:14 and Veronica Morales in 36th at 22:56. Lauren Messersmith and Annie Bourne ran in the middle school 3k race.

“Today’s meet at Madison was quite difficult; despite the wind and the hills everyone on the team did so well,” Claire Kilcullen said. “I’m proud to say they are my teammates and love the bond we have on the DV cross country team.”
