Dakota Valley travelled to Madison Saturday, Jan. 30 to play a senior-laden Mobridge-Pollock team in the DAK-12/Northeast Conference Clash.

MP started at a slow pace. Turnovers started to plague the Tigers. A Chayce Montagne 3 gave DV a 16-8 lead. DV built the lead to 20-10 but MP hit a 3 at the buzzer to tighten the score 20-13 at the end of the first quarter.

Joey Bryan started the second quarter with a 3-point play the old fashioned way. It was the start of a 13-0 run. MP turnovers provided fast break opportunities for DV. A Paul Bruns basket put DV up 44-17 at half.

Bruns had an early 3 and then 2 more off a steal. DV built up a 63-31 lead before MP hit a free throw to end the quarter at 63-32. The third quarter was a combination of 3s and fast breaks among sloppy plays.

The trend continued in the fourth quarter. Bruns had a nice behind-the-back assist on a fast break.

At the 5:48 mark, DV made major substitutions. The reserves held their own and DV won 78-41.
