Dakota Valley overwhelmed West Sioux 59-19 at home Monday night in girls basketball action. The Panthers built a 37-3 halftime lead. West Sioux could not buy a basket, even a bunny, and became lackadaisical with passes that contributed to 27 steals and many lay-ups for DV.
The steals contributed to Rylee Rosenquist’s 23 points to lead DV and Peyton Tritz’s 13.
The win evens the record between the schools to 3-3. Dakota Valley’s season record is now 7-3 to West Sioux’s 6-7.
“We got off to a really good start defensively and that set the tempo of the game for us,” head coach Tammy Lilly said. “We were able to get some good transition buckets early. We had a lot of girls really step in and play quality minutes tonight.”
