The track and field teams scored 22 personal bests at the DAK-12 Conference Meet May 13 in Dell Rapids.

Those bests ranged from 7th-grader Cera Schmitz in the 100 hurdles to seniors Tyler Goehring and Drake Peed, who both set new school records. Goehring went 45’ in the triple jump and Peed threw the discus 177’. Goehring won the triple jump and Peed won both shot and discus.

This was the last regular-season meet for the Huskies. They head to Beresford for the Region 4A meet Thursday, May 20.

Unlike prior years, placing at regions does not guarantee a place at state. This year, the top 24 times and distances across the state determine state qualifiers. Those athletes will be recognized in next week’s edition.
