The Dakota Valley girls basketball team was 7 points shy of doubling up Beresford’s end score Dec. 15 – 62-38. In the last three quarters, DV scored 53 of their points, hitting double digits. The first quarter was the only quarter Beresford outscored DV.

“We got off to a slow start, but had a big second and third quarter,” head coach Tammy Lilly said. “We picked up our defensive intensity and that turned into offense for us and everything started to flow much more smoothly.”

Four Panthers hit double digits, including Rylee Rosenquist 17, Peyton Tritz 12, Jorja VanDenHul 12 and Rachel Rosenquist 10.

“Peyton Tritz hit 3 3’s in a row in the third quarter,” Lilly said. “We had good scoring separation, having 4 girls in double figures.”

After picking up their defensive intensity, the Panthers saw a rise in their steal statistics with the Rosenquists leading the way with 5 each followed by VanDenHul with 4.
